Don’t sleep on Black Sherif.
When the young talent dropped Money, we knew he was something special, and like every raw talent; he needed refining. Well, the lad has come a long way after that breakout single, racking up numbers on Audiomack streams and feature verses.
After seeing Destiny hit 50K + streams and Ade Akye earlier this year, get him featured on Boomplay Gh’s Most Popping Playlist, Sherif is primed for his soon-to-be dropped tape. But before he drops that, he gave us a foretaste of just what to expect; the 1st Sermon Freestyle.
Here’s the surprising thing about the freestyle; it’s a freestyle, a rap freestyle. Sherif didn’t step onto the scene because of his lyrical ability. Everyone who knows him knows him for his vocals and his messaging – but not his lyrical ability.
But whoever told him to attempt it, we say thank you. It’s like the boy always had it in his locker and he was waiting for the opportune time to show off.
But we’d be reviewing the freestyle if we got into it. No, we’re just going to talk about how he blew up Twitter when he dropped the freestyle.
To see people like Sarkodie, Ko-Jo Cue, tweet the freestyle pumping the young King up. To see Yaw Tog post it on his FB page, and to see Kwesi Arthur, Edem and Chris Waddle comment on the freestyle just shows how the acknowledgement the boy has got so far.
Was that enough? No. Black Sherif was trending on Twitter today as well with the release out and people tweeting with his name and hashtag.

The icing on the cake; Sherif has already hit 10,000 streams on Audiomack and 28, 000 views on YouTube. That is a mark of a champion. All we can say is, let the tape drop.
