Watching Ben Carson’s gifted hands movie as a child inspired me to become a surgeon. I felt so compelled and it felt like a dream come true for me even though I’ve not gotten to any stage of my life yet I just felt like this it.
It didn’t just end there. It all changed after I had the desire to bring up life-changing inventions.
So quick, I never had the desire to become a Surgeon again. I now started extensive research on the University courses that will allow me to create and invent. Not so long I found material science engineering.
I guard myself with inspiration from what I’ll be doing not just in Africa but the world also.
It all got shuttered after my final Basic Education Certificate Exams. My grades weren’t good enough to motivate me to go for general science.
I had to go for general art. I realized that at every stage of the growing process whatever we thought we wanted was leading us to what we needed.
I’m naturally gifted to do basic designs with pens, it has been part of me. Back in high school I will design letters for friends and they would pay me for my service even though I wasn’t a visual student, I could do better in designs than most of them so I was known for it.
Dreams do change in accordance to the means to achieve them, my basic design skills made me get inspired by one woman who visited our school to talk to us, they mentioned she is an Industrial artist, I was like great this is it!
In the learning process, I had these two great friends, I never knew much about computer science, computer engineering, and Information Technology but they always kept talking about and its relevance in the near future.
I only listened to them and give it a thought later when I’m alone, they didn’t know how that was affecting me. Whom do you listen to?
My brother Edward Asare, made mentioned to me before you can become an Information Technology specialist you’ve got to be a technophile (someone who loves technology), that way I’ll enjoy whatever I’m doing and wouldn’t get fed up.
Also, even though I’ve got the desire for being a surgeon or an inventor I haven’t got the intellectual ability to do so, It’ll just leave me frustrated beating myself up at the end!
Many feel like they’re left behind because they couldn’t finish a particular course or something, it doesn’t matter, try something else. Is the excuse because you don’t have passion for it? Grow it!
However, we can’t keep limiting ourselves because we think we’ve been tied to just one dream.
Who said? When one dies grow another and let life still keep moving all you need is just an inspiration. Who is your inspiration today with whatever you’re doing now?
We’ve all got this inner fire when it dies I let’s ignite it again! We’re made for more
Let’s not limit ourselves!
