Ole costs Nuno his job
I guess Nuno was the loser in every sense of the word when Tottenham Hotspur lost to Manchester United. For all the talk, it felt like it was Ole who was going to get sacked, but United’s players came through to switch the balance in the favor of Ole. Unfortunately, it has been at the expense of the Spurs boss’ job.
Antonio Conte is looming
Conte has been in the rumor mill recently, but he was in it because of Ole potentially being sacked at Manchester United. It was said that he had expressed a desire to manage the club if Ole was sacked. But knowing Manchester United and what they stand for, Conte is not the man they would want to take over the club.

They’ve already had an experience in Jose Mourinho and wouldn’t want another fierce coach who does not take no for an answer. Interestingly, Spurs also sacked Mourinho before appointing Nuno.
But the grandiose caliber of both teams comes to the fore, and it makes more sense why Spurs are strongly considering Conte to take over from Nuno.
The truth is Conte wins titles. He did it with Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. An expensive warrior mentality is what he brings to a club. Expensive because his demands are absolute.

Conte did not take the job at Spurs in the summer because they weren’t ready to meet his demands, both financially and spending-wise.
But now that they have presented themselves with no other choice, Conte holds all the cards. He can demand as much as he wants before he signs as the coach, and equally put together a very expensive list of transfers he would need to function well in the premier league.
Daniel Levy has no other cards to play because he is really at the mercy of Conte.
They hired Mourinho and sacked him. Then came Nuno and they sacked him. They didn’t sell Harry Kane, and now he is misfiring, which means his value on the market will fall from the 100m price tag they initially placed on him. Now they are hiring Conte, who will be expensive in his package and his signings. Also, Conte isn’t a tournament playing coach.

He plays to win league titles as opposed to cup tournaments. And honestly, unless he gets all the players he wants and successfully implements his style, he’ll have to battle Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea to win the league. This might represent Conte’s most laborious task.
Maybe it is for the better…
It didn’t look like the Spurs were going anywhere anyway this season. Probably for the best.
